TECHNO-ECONOMICS OF DAIRY BUSINESS:
S.W.O.T. analysis of dairy business in India indicates following critical shortcomings:

1. Dependence on raw milk of poor quality
2.
Short range business plans
3. Conventional undesirable trade practices and management style
4. Unwanted network of middlemen between milk producer and consumer.

Please go through our presentation-1 on the subject for our views and professional recommendations for tackling these bottlenecks.

RESULT ORIENTED SYSTEM APPROACH TO BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
I.S.O. based management procedures, clear work instructions and closely monitored performance results are essential prerequisite for optimizing productivity and profitability. Management functions of all departments should be based on prime performance parameters and regulated as per concepts and techniques like ISO. Introducing the concept of management by objectives in all business operations is necessary for optimizing resources and performance results. Professional experts associated with our organization have prepared comprehensive manuals for all functional departments (Milk procurement to marketing) for introducing this concept in letter and spirit.

One such manual for milk procurement function is available on our web site as presentation-2.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT WITH TRANSPARENT ACCOUNTING SYSTEM “PARTHA”:
Pasteurization involves only heating/cooling of milk and thereafter milk is required to be packed and delivered to the consumer using safe transportation under refrigeration (between dairy plant and consumer). The difference between farm gate price actually reaching the milk producers and the price at which pasteurized whole milk is sold to consumer normally remains in the range of Rs.7/Kg to Rs. 8/Kg. Assuming total milk handling cost as Rs.4.00/Kg. it leaves a very good profit margin for the entrepreneurs in dairy business. Unfortunately most of the ethical dairy plants (especially those located in north India) are either working on nominal profits or struggling hard for their survival. Transparent accounting system based on “MARWARI” concept “PARTHA” is well tried effective solution to locate/ control hidden losses and optimize profitability of dairy business.
